The Cupcake Project
May/June: Cupcakes Against Child Trafficking (Send Cassandra to Thailand)

Objective: To raise US$1,500 to finance my participation in the Prevent Human Trafficking Summer Study Program. See Progress Report.
Program: I will spend 2 weeks traveling to Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai and Mai Sai to gain first-hand knowledge of anti-trafficking strategies, an understanding of systemic causes of trafficking, and an appreciation of challenges to the anti-trafficking movement in Thailand. The program runs from July 10-24, 2008.
Three reasons to support Cassandra:
- You know you want some cupcakes :)
- You will be contributing to the fight against human trafficking via my education.
- Your financial endorsement is a vote of confidence that you, too, believe in what I am tasked to do.
How to support Cassandra:
- Attend a Cupcakes Against Child Trafficking event near you. Cupcakes will sell for $5 each.
- Make a financial contribution. There are three ways of doing so:
- Paypal: Free to start an account and send money to friends and family. (There is a small fee on my end.) My account is [dropshop AT email DOT com]
- Transfer funds to my personal bank accounts in Singapore and the US. Contact me for details.
- Send me a check, or meet-up with me if you’re planning on giving cash.
- Tell a friend! Forward this URL on, or join my Facebook group. The best form of marketing is word-of-mouth, and your word to your friends would mean more to me than gold or chocolate! :)
As part of the requirements for the class, I will be keeping a daily journal, and writing a short reflection paper on the trip. As a contributor to this effort, you will receive a copy of this report, photographs and all, as a gesture of thanks and appreciation for your support.
Thank you!
